"This love has forever changed us. Leona welcomed us to parenthood by keeping us guessing, with a hard 35 hour labor followed by an ambulance ride to the hospital the next day when she started having seizures at home. She stayed in the NICU while doctors tried to figure out what was going on with our sweet girl, a physically and emotionally exhausting experience intensified by COVID restrictions - only one of us allowed by her bedside at a time during limited visiting hours each day.
This was not at all what we had in mind for welcoming our baby home - we longed to hold her and hear her voice. “Leona” means strong and fierce, and she showed us just how much her name suits her during her hospital stay. This time made our love for her and for each other even stronger and when she finally came home it was such a celebration.
The photos Ani took of her capture her sweet disposition and her easy-going nature. She is our treasure and it was so important to us to have photos to show just how special she is."
