This little handsome guys is Gabriel. He was only a few days old when he had a newborn photography session with me, but he did very well, and his mommy and daddy are very proud of him. One of the reasons I love photographing newborns, is I really enjoy meeting the new parents. I love their excitement, their confusion, love, the entire experience of the new life they just walked into. I came across this poem online that describes that experience in a very beautiful way, so I wanted to share it with you, and dedicate it Gabriel's parents, and everyone who has recently become a parent.
What joy and what pleasure!
Now your life is expanding,
To make room for this treasure.
To have and to hold--
Than silver or gold.
Though he's helpless and small;
He'll make his needs known,
And he'll rule over all.
Is just never quite done,
But you'll never mind,
‘Cause it's all so much fun.
You'll start "aahing" and "oohing,"
And he'll soon reply back
By "ga ga" and "goo gooing."
See a world strange and new;
To make sense of it all
He'll look only to you.
Of miraculous things--
The excitement and wonder
That a new baby brings.
