Kimberly's pregnancy brought her closer to her Fiancé and family than she could have ever imagined. Even though they have been together since high school, the pregnancy took their love for each other to another level. They had always dreamed of having a family of their own but did not expect it to happen so soon. She details that she was a lot stronger than she thought after giving birth. When I first found out I was pregnant I was surprised. It felt like I was dreaming and it took a little while to sink in that I’m going to be a mom! Frank, my fiancé and I have been dating since high school. You can say we are high school sweethearts. We grew up together from teens to young adults. On our tenth anniversary he proposed. We talked about having kids and planed to start a family once we got married. Few months later we found out we were pregnant. Life doesn’t always go as plan and that’s okay. For us it worked out even better.
Being pregnant brought us together in a way I didn’t know it existed. I loved ever minute of it. Being pregnant made me feel beautiful and powerful. It’s honestly magical. We let a family member of ours throw us a gender reveal. I wanted a boy for as long as I can remember. So imagine my supiese when I open the box filled with blue tiny balloons . I jumped up with so much joy. We were surrounded with family and they were so excited for us.
My first baby purchase was a elephant baby blanket. A elephant is meaningful to me it. It’s my grandmas favorite animal and it’s beings good luck. Being pregnant help me become closer to my parents. It was amazing how they cared so much about me and this baby growing inside my tummy. It made me realize that I’m stronger then I thought.
The biggest joy from being pregnant is that I can eat anything. I so played the “I'm Pregnant “ card way too many times. I enjoyed everything about my pregnancy. I definitely miss my belly. It was such a great first experience for me.
On 11/16/2019 9:53pm my baby boy was born. I was so nervous and anxious to see this baby who’s been kicking and moving inside of me. Do you look like mommy or daddy? Once I had him and did skin to skin was such a rewarding feeling. He’s mine. He cried when he came out but became silent once he was on my chest. It was amazing to see that even outside of my belly he knows me. I felt love.
What I learn from my partner was patience. That it’s okay to not know everything and that we are learning and becoming the best parents for our baby. Capturing these pictures while I was pregnant was important to me. I can take a look at them now and see how far I come . Remembering this journey and the beginning of me with my son.
